OH MY! MUSIC FESTIVAL - Peripheral programming

Since 2019, Showpony has been responsible for the fringe programming of OH MY! Festival, the biggest hip-hop and R&B festival in the Netherlands. With world acts like Tyga, Rick Ross and Stefflon Don, the main stage is all about music, but everything around it - that's Showpony. From pink gorillas and parades to life-size Pacman mazes and branding activations. We make sure the whole venue is alive, even between acts.

We are given full creative freedom within the branding of OH MY! and each year we translate that into a high-profile overall concept with acts, décor, experience and interaction. Everything completely themed, always with flair.

The challenge

How do you make a festival unforgettable, even beyond the mainstage? By creating peripheral programming that is just as memorable as the line-up. OH MY! gave us the confidence and space to make this happen. From logistics to creativity, we had to arrange everything smartly without disrupting the flow of the festival.

The implementation

In 2019, we provided dancing parade groups, pink gorillas and eye-catching Showpony hosts. In 2022, we went even bigger, with a life-size Pacman Maze, custom mascots, stick-on tattoos and our own OHMY smiley entertainers. We turned the lockers into an experience and had hosts walking around with polaroids, tattoos and karaoke invites. Everything to give visitors an extra layer of experience - without it feeling forced.

The result

OH MY! became more than just a music festival. Deploying fringe programming as a serious brand experience created a venue where something was always happening. With high engagement, visual recognition and thousands of visitors who came not only for the music, but also for the vibe. And Showpony? Who became the face of everything happening between the stages.
