Published in 2023 Hardcore Never Dies, a raw film about Rotterdam's gabber culture in the 1990s. Showpony was responsible for casting, hosting and crew support on several shooting days. With a mix of experienced actors and real gabbers from the scene, we made a cast-iron picture of the era in which everything was right: the atmosphere, the people and the energy.

The challenge

Making a film about gabber requires more than good actors. You need people who understand and carry the culture. Who know what it feels like to bounce on a rock-hard bass line. Every scene had to be authentic, from the clothes to the behaviour of the extras.

The implementation

Showpony arranged casting, figuring and styling for key scenes. Our people stood in the audience of fictional raves, walked as extras through underground sets and energised the set. We also supported the production team behind the scenes with tight hosting, scheduling support and supervision of large groups.

The result

Hardcore Never Dies became an audience favourite. The film achieved Golden Film status and was praised for its raw style and credibility. Showpony proved once again how valuable the right people are in the right place - even if it is in the middle of a rock-hard afterparty.
